Migrating between platform (NT/Solaris) and Versions (8.0.5/8.1.6)...

We are migrating some of our applications from Oracle 8.0.5 running on WinNT
to Oracle 8.1.6 running on Sun boxes, and we are having some problems using
the Import/Export to do the migration.  Is it possible to Imp/Exp between
Versions and Platforms?  If not, what is the best way to approach this
situation?
