Windows 2k Hangs when creating Large database

Hi



I have just upgraded to a new Compaq server Quad processors, 2Gb
Memory. When building my database using Oracle 8.1.7 the entire op sys
Hangs during the create tablespace phase. Each time I restart the
build, it will Hang somewhere different.



I understand that there is a reported Bug (1389996) which sounds like
my problem.



Does anyone know if there is a Patch or new release which fixes this
bug, or is there a work-a-round.



If I am able to create my database, piece by piece, will Oracle work
OK with my 20Gb datafiles??
