Exporting Oracle8 database from 8i Client

Hi,
I have a Oracle8i(8.1.7) enterpise edition installed on a windows 2000 machine and am connecting to a Oracle8.0.5 database using the net8 configuration.
I am unable to export the Oracle8 database. It says

C:\ADMINI~1\Backup>exp.EXE system/manager_at_panda full=y file= sid6\dlysid6 .dmp consistent=y

EXP-00037: Export views not compatible with database version EXP-00000: Export terminated unsuccessfully

Is there some way I can do the exports and assuming to do it, will I be able to import if needed to a Oracle8 database.
