Thanks for that info....

Only problem that I think I have it that when the file it emptied, it then starts to fill up again ready for the next emptying 1/2 hour later.

I thought of possibly getting the size of the file every 1/2 hour and checking that it a certain size. If it was larger than expected then it would indicate that the file had not been emptied. Also thought that there might be a way of checking a flag to indicate if it had been emptied...

Any thoughts.....
