Oracle 8.1.7 listner problem...

I just finished installing oracle 8.1.7 on linux, though the installation went fine I have a weird problem...

When I try to connect remotely, it is fine the first time but the moment I try to close one connection on SQL plus...I can not connect again till I restart the listeners...

Any help would be appreciated...
