    I also had a terrible time getting it to work properly, on either NT
SP6a or W2K SP1 (both listed as supported). I never did get it to work, in
fact, and I backed off to 8.1.6. I've had no problems with 8.1.6.

    I really get the feeling they didn't put enough QA into 8.1.7 on W2K.
