oracle 8.03 / "database assistant manager" hangs

please help




i'm using an oracle 8.03 on a nt workstation ( sp6 ). Qll oracle services
are running correctly.


When i try to start the oracle database assistant manager ( to create a new
instance ) the splash screen is shown and nothing else.
The task manager shows me, that javaw.exe and dbassist.exe are running.




Where's my fault? What could be the reason?
