Login Too Server Prob

I can connect to my 8.1.7 server from my client successfully within my
LAN using Net8 Easy Config.  But if I then try to connect 1 second later
using SQL*Plus I get:



ORA-12154: TNS: Could not resolve service name



What gives?  Aren't the two using the same tnsnames.ora file?  How can
one connect but not the other?
