interesting suggestions.
I am running on the same machine that the server is running on. But I get the same slow initial connect when I try to go to an outside server. I can connect fast to the same outside server from another client machine. So it seems it particular to the machine with Win2k on it.
I will try the suggestion an let you know...thanks....ed
