Hi

I am trying to install oracle816 on linux6.2. I unzipped the downloaded file and when I ran the .8161Std/runInstaller connecting as Oracle user which I created for installing oracle, and encountered the following error:

Initializing java virtual machine from ../stgage/...re/1.1.8//1..

X11 TransSocket INETconnet: can't connect: error = 111 java.lang.Internal Error: can't connect to X11 windows server using 'localhost:0.0' as the value of Display variable. at sun.awt.motif.Mtollkit<init>CMTOOLKIT.java.63)

I lookt at my .bash_profile file and all the requried environment files are defined in it. Like DISPLAY, ORACLE_HOME etc. If I say echo $DISPLAY I see "localhost:0.0"

I am not understanding how to proceed further so that I can install oracle on linux.

If any one can help in this I appreciate..

 Thanks
