I installed Oracle EE 8.1.7 for Linux to Debian Woody machine. Installation was succesful, but I have problems in creating a new database. I tried create it during installation and later by dbassist. In both cases, errors ocurred:

ORA-03113 end-of-file on communication channel ORA-03114 not connected to ORACLE

My ORACLE_HOME and ORACLE_SID shell variables are valid, but I still have those errors.

After a booting the machine, svrmgrl accepts command: 'connect internal' and allows log in without errors. But 'startup' fails.

Next time I run svrmgrl, there's several ORA-03113 errors, 'connect internal' wants password and logging in is denied.

Has anybody had similar errors with dbassist?
