View Tuning

Hi,

we have a view with 9 select statements unioned with out any hints in the view definition,which is taking 15 sec to query the view.

I had split the view and tuned 3 select statements by adding hints to use indexes and checked all the 9 statements individually and all

are running less than a sec. If I make the same changes to view definition query is taking 60 sec.

Any one has an idea why it is so and have any tips to tune views.
