Is this an important production environment?
Because if so, I would politely suggest to whoever 'gave' you a week to pull this stunt off to go jump in a lake.
I've just spent a very pleasant afternoon helping sort out an upgrade mess using suspiciously similar versions -and it was Oracle itself that had performed the defective upgrade! (Mistakes do happen).
I realise that sounds flippant: it's not supposed to be. These things *ought* to be tested first. But if it truly is a do-or-die situation, read the Oracle-supplied upgrade instructions extremely carefully, and follow them out to the letter. And be prepared for near-death experiences.
