No tables or tablespaces will generate archives if your database is in NOARCHIVELOG mode.

But that's not probably quite what you had in mind...
As I learnt to my cost several months ago, there is no way to entirely switch of the generation of redo for any table, let alone a tablespace. There is a NOLOGGING option (used to be called UNRECOVERABLE in 7, I believe), but this only means that *certain types* of operation (direct loads, create, etc) will not generate redo -normal inserts, updates and deletes will *still* generate redo (and hence, if you are indeed in archivelog mode, archives).
