Hi,

Oracle needs to link its executables during installation. As far as I know,
it does not need a compiler (cc,gcc), it needs a linker (ld). It is possible
that there are no compiler packages on the box, but it is not common to run a box without any linkers.

Can you post the exact error message you are getting?
