We struggled with our oem not discovering nodes for a couple of days. Below is what we did and it worked for oem servers running on nt and solaris for with a remote server running an intelligent agent on solaris 2.7 and oracle 8.1.6. Didn't find the solution within deja so if anyone is looking here's what we did.

I believe that we found a bug in the oem/oia system. For some reason oem will not register a system with a .net name. Our server that we wish to connect to is something.atdomain.net and everything with the intelligent agent was verified according to the troubleshooting guide available from something.atdomain.com. We then changed the host file on our servers running oem (one nt and one solaris) to point the ip to something.atdomain.com (to override dns) and everything worked. We verified with our IT department that the DNS entries were correct.

Please feel free to add questions/comments, Damon
