In the cause of harmony, I usually take a concilliatory tone with SQL Server - but I tend to agree. I copied a 600 Mb database using DTS. It took 5 hours before failing over a foreign key constraint. "Restoring" from a dump is quicker - but it resets most database properties to the source database. Very limited management capabilities.

Easy for VB programmers, though.
