Just a quickie honest. I have set the database to archive mode and was working away when it suddenly ground to a halt. The server is now churnning away but nothing is happening. The response from Oracle is as if it has hung. I have gone int svrmgr and tried to shutdown but it to gives the appearance of it hanging. Is this the archiving process taking place and if so is there any way to suspend it or speed it up? Thanks in advance
