Sorry to hear that; and I don't understand it: when your company pays you
no matter how much, why still go for the money?
And then - more money is like a new car: nice for 6 weeks or so, but after that
you'll be used to it. And your account will be as empty on month-end as it used
to be (I know mine is... :|).
I feel -and I aim for that- that getting new challenges, or more or different
responsablities
are far more rewarding. Looks like you have got a new assignment, too: tutoring
2 junior
DBA's! In the end, of course, that should be rewarded; in cash, time, courses,
whatever, but it should.
Anyway - maybe I'm just oldfashioned, which could very well be - not only am I
born
and bread in the old world, but the few hairs I have left are quite grey, too.
And I remeber
working with Oracle V4.
But I have had new opportunities and challenges throughout my career, and have
enjoyed
that. As a side effect I do make more money, but life is more expensive
nowadays...
I have also worked for only three companies, the last 20 years.

Not as a result, that is always the case!
