Problem Installing Oracle8.1.6 on RH7.0

We've been trying to install Oracle 8.1.6 on RH Linux7.0 for the past 2 
weekends and when it's creating the database it gets stuck on 80%.  We just 
bought RH7 and really don't want to revert to a previous version.  Anyone 
have any clues on how to get the database created?  We're really getting 
fed up with it.
