The one problem of course with SVG is that it is not nearly ubiquitous as PDF files. That is the main reason I wouldn't even consider them at this point in time. Almost everyone has the PDF reader and nobody has an SVG viewer (unless of course MS is shipping one with IE currently which I'm not sure about)
