Open the ODBC control panel on the client. Find the button "Start tracing", then push it.

This functionality should be independent of the database that is behind the ODBC driver, so it should work for Oracle 8 as well as any other database.

I had to use it last week when all MS-Access-97 could say was "ODBC ERROR" to find out that the actual message should have been "you fool, you forgot to create that table"...
