Database creation scripts

I installed Oracle 8.1.6 EE on a Sun 450 with 2 processors and 4 G of RAM. I choosed not to install the example database and created the database generation scripts with the tool provided by Oracle. When I try to run these scripts I get the message "Out of memory".

Apparently, it crashes when it reaches the line (under svrmgrl):

... create nomount pfile="/opt/app/oracle/..../pfile/initDBS.ora"

Can anybody help me?
