You cannot use VxVM 3.0.4, at least not with SunCluster 2.1 or SunCluster 2.2. The VxVM will install fine but it will hang as soon as your OPS trying to write to the same disk. I have done this before when we rebuilding a sun cluster in the lab, couldn't find the CVM CD and used VxVM instead, and we find out the cause of the problem only one month later.
