We run OPS 8i on few high-end HP servers V(?) class with cluster configurations and RAIDs from EMC for online trading systems, no problems... excepts minor problems with bi-directional replications from/to 7.3x.
Oracle advanced queuing and distributed updates between 8i to 7.3x (on another clusters) also works thru stored procedures. Gigabytes of data migrated from v7.3 on HP to v8 on HP also works.
