Home -> Community -> Usenet -> c.d.o.server -> Read Only Tablespaces - Question
I have a couple of databases, 8.0.5 running on Solaris. These databases use some read-only tablespaces. Each day, one of the read-only tablespaces is changed to read write and one table in the tablespace is updated. When this is done, it is necessary to make the tablespace read-only again and then back it up. My problem is that I can not make the tablespace read-only with active transactions in the database. So, is there a clean way to temporarily disable transactions so that I can switch the tablespace to read-only? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
TIA,
Patrick
