PLEASE . . . [ORA-03113: end-of-file on communication channel]

Hello everybody,

I have installed Oracle8i R2 (8.1.6.1) for Linux on a RedHat(i386) with a SMP kernel, when I run svrmgrl I get this : What can I do ?
What do I need to check ?
