Experience shows that this thread will develop into a big fight of biased people who will loose soon track of the original question... Why don't you ask some unbiased consultants and contact the salesreps of the companies in question? Then you build your opinion based on that
(keeping in mind that salesreps are salesreps of course), rather than
which members in which newsgroups have the most time to sell their religion.
When you do this you should be prepared to tell the experts what kind of application you need, in which language you intend to implement, how many concurrent users you will have, how critical 24x7 is for you and what growth you expect over time.
You choice for BI could be entirely different than for e.g. web-management or OO-Applications.
