Datafiles

Hello,

Can I take a OS datafile and 'add' it to the Oracle instance? I have a datafile that I backed up about 1 week ago. Of course since then the tables within that datafile have changed.

Now, they want to me restore that version of the table which I backed up 1 week ago into the test instance.

Is there some way I can do an 'ALTER DATABASE ADD DATAFILE' or something to add this datafile and the tables within it to my test instance?
