8i Installation problem - kindly help

While installing Oracle 8i on Intel Solaris 7.0 I get the following error msg :

Error in invoking target domerge of makefile /opt/oracle_home/Install/utl/libmerge.mk

What does that mean ??? is there a way to get around please
