I'm here in the Bay Area as a DBA as well. While I can understand both sides on this issue, I think what "blah" was trying to get at, is there are so many people moving here that don't do their research first, and are in utter shock about having to overbid on even apartments (sometimes hundreds of dollars on already overpriced apts.). It's very viscious here, and I see all the time in the paper people saying they moved here and didn't realize beforehand how hard the housing situation is....and that they can't find a place to live, etc. etc. etc.
Also, might I recommend that you clean up your resume a little with some honesty? Not trying to judge, but the worse thing you can do, is misrepresent your skill level -- as companies will find out, and as they say "it's a very small valley!".
You don't want to start on the wrong foot, just be honest!!
