I believe it's the LD_LIBRARY_PATH variable that is not set correctly. As long as this gets set in either the .profile, .cshrc, oraenv or coraenv scripts this should resolve the problem. I got this error after moving the ORACLE_HOME directory.
Also, if there is an OS upgrade, you might have to recreate the make files to relink oracle You can find that information on Metallink - DOC ID: Note: 74991.1
