My swap was more than adequate, I did not change features from my base install of 8.1.6.0.0. As far as make, it was /usr/ccs/bin/make, not /usr/ucb/make. The funny thing is that the original install (including the make) was fine, just the 8.1.6.1.1 failed. Now that I think about it, I did retrieve the "32BIT" version from oralce-ftp, which is probably the reason for the failure. There was no "64BIT" version available. I am running Solaris 7 with 64 bit support.
