Oracle names server on Win2k - Oracle 8i

Does anybody have the above configuration working, that is Oracle names
server configured and running on Windows 2000 Server - Oracle 8i, because I
am haveing so much headache on it.  I've tried on 3 different machines, one
on a fresh windows 2000 server machine.  After running the oracle names
server wizard, when I try to "start" in the "manage server" tab, it
crashes - 32-bit Windows error:997:Unknown error!



Any help would be appreciated.
