Hi,

Migrate from 8.1.5 to 8.1.6 is very easy:

  1. shutdown your instance
  2. make a full backup
  3. install 8.1.6 into an new oracle-home
  4. chown of all the files (db-files, controlfiles, redo-logs, bdump, cdump,.....) to the new oracle-owner (8.1.6)
  5. start the instance with 8.1.6
  6. run the migration script in the servermanager (u080105.sql)
  7. shutdown
  8. make a full backup

change your listener-Settings and your tnsnames.ora or the names-server.

Thats all!

But: don't migrate from 8.1.5 to 8.1.6! we have big troubles with functions in a grou by-clause!!!!! se also Message "worng results with function in decode" in this forum!!!!!!
