Hi guys,

I'm trying to get my head around the relationship between the listener and tnsnames files, I'm getting confused.

In a simple scenaria of a single Oracle Instance running on a host server and a single remote client application. Does the tnsmaes.ora file on the Host need any values ? I know the tnsnames on the client does in order to communicate to the host listener process and that the host based listener.ora does.
