Check the start-in directory on the machine with the problem - if you're not using a shortcut to SQL*Plus, check the %ORACLE_HOME%\bin directory. If there is a login.sql file, or maybe a glogin.sql file, look to see if it has an alter session statement which is setting an NLS value. HTH,
