Can Oracle7 read Oracle8 exports

Created a set of exports in Oracle 8.0.5.2.1 on HP-UX 11. Tried to load them into a Oracle 7.3.3 db on HP-UX 10.20 (don't ask why, wouldn't do any good). Get a IMP-00010 (corrupt header) error when I try. Didn't copy them from one machine to the other with FTP- used rcp command.

Can Oracle7 read the Oracle8 export, and if so, could the header block be corrupt by going back to 10.20 from 11?
