$ Value of DBA Certification

    The institution I work at is evaluating the amount of extra annual money that might be paid to employees that pass Oracle DBA certification when the certification is made a requirement for some positions. No money would be paid until all tests are passed.

    My guess is at least $9,000, of course I may be biased sinced I'm a DBA. One reason I give this figure is because that's at least one and a half years I'll have to forego a lot of time with family and friends, and the requirement would not be voluntary.

    Has anybody else had their employer put a dollar value on this or had to do so as an employer?
