It all depends...

But I can tell you what I have in place.

Release 11.02 on 8.0.5

E-3500 with 4 x 400 MHz CPUs, 3 GB RAM, 4 x A-1000 0+1 RAID drive arrays with 6 x 18 GB drives each.

This supports the back-end database and concurrent managers quite well for about 65 concurrent users with 9 modules in place.

The web and forms server tasks are off-loaded onto a load balancing Windows NT(biggest mistake of my Oracle life) Compaq Proliant middle-tier (3 servers).

Your mileage may vary.
