thanks, for the quick replay.
But first of all, we know about the general problem of not being able to do
a
cold backup while the service is running therefore the database is also
backed up using exp80 with full option.
So it is not as bad as it first sounded.
The question though is, since our customer uses Seagate backup exec, is this
tool able to do a proper backup
while the db is running as it says? Of course there is always the
possibility of setting up a job which shuts down the
orcl service using the svrmgr30 before performing a cold backup.
Or do we need a special agent for backup exec which brings the tablespaces
in backup mode?.
