Java.exe -> Dr. Watson error

I installed Oracle 8.0.3 client on a Windows NT 4.0 SP5 development machine.

When I try to start the Oracle 8 documentation I get a Dr. Watson error with a Kernel dump stating an access violation error in java.exe.

On the same machine there is MS Visual Studio 6.0 installed. The machine currently only uses vga compatible graphics card driver with 800x600 resolution, 16 colors. Further MS IE 4.0 SP 1 is installed.

I already installed the Oracle client software on different machines with no problems.

Any help is most appreciated.
