Spinning wrksf processes with OAS 4.0.8 on Linux

Hello,

I have installed OAS 4.0.8 on a linux server with Oracle 8.1.6, they are in different $ORACLE_HOMES.

When I start the OAS listener using "owsctl start" and start using it from a browser I get a whole lot of "wrksf" processes which comsume almost all of the CPU and make the server thrash itself almost to death. At this point, everything is painfully slow.

Can anyone suggest why this might be occuring? I've seen reports of similar behavior & bugs in Win NT in association with an OraPerf product but how might this apply to Linux?

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Yours hopefully - Kevin.
