Re: Oracle DBA Certification

I would also suggest a year or two of hands on experience, which IMHO says more than just getting certified. There really isn't anything that can replace real life experience, and then backing up/detailing/enhancing ones knowledge through certification.
However, more and more people seem to be getting certified first so some suggestions might be:

• In all honesty the certification parallels alot of what is taught in the classes.
• Couchman is also said to have written a pretty good book, but it's thick and will take you awhile to trudge through.
• Selftest software has example tests you can buy with around 300 questions, and they are actually pretty decent.
