8i Linux Installation over X-Win32

I'm trying to install Oracle on my remote linux box using X-Win32. I
can successfully get up xterms and any other screen, but when I run the
installer I briefly see the installer window come up, but before it
renders and buttons it disappears.  Anyone have any ideas???
