Oracle 8.1.5 has its own release for Intel-Unix.

The install may well fail if you are using scripts that have I assume been associated with the 8.1.5. Sparc release (for Solaris 7).

Why not at least try and run the create db scripts (or derivatives of them) which come with the Intel-Unix distribution of Oracle 8.1.5.?
