We are using an old release and I'm studying an upgrade from 3.0 to 4.0.8 In fact I wonder how to benefit from the Oracle 8i server with the new release. They seem independant.
We use it for Intranet and Extranet purpose essentialy with PL/SQL cartridges.

There are several free alternatives. At least 2: OWSKiller ( sweet noun, isn't it ) (http://owskiller.penguin.cz/index.html) and Apache + OWA Module.
