The only point to add is that when you
start the instance, the memory in the
java pool is NOT reported as one
of the components of memory in use.
(at least is wasn't on my machine under
8.1.5).
You can test this by changing the
value a couple of times and restarting.
The amount of memory reported as
part of the SGA in the little startup
list does not change, although
an 'ipcs' call will show the change.
