ugly one. i have been testing an import from our production system, nt running 8.0.3, to our new sun e450 upgrade running 8.0.5 and i can't seem to get beyond the 2,641,654th row of a table. here are the vitals on my environ.

the import error looks like this:

. . importing table "TS_GUD_TIMESTAMP" IMP-00009: abnormal end of export file
IMP-00018: partial import of previous table completed: 2641654 rows imported Import terminated successfully with warnings.

production

nt with 8.0.3 oracle
char set of db is the default ascii7
nls_lang is america.american_we8iso8859p1 (i have also tried changing it to utf8) exp params: file= log= owner= indexes=n contraints=y rows=y

upgrade

sun 2.6 with 8.0.5 oracle
char set of db is utf8
nls_lang is america.american_utf8
imp params: file= log= fromuser= touser=ignore=y commit=y buffer=10485760 rows=y indexes=n grants=n

i am aware of the need for the nls_lang to be the same for exp and imp. i have been trying with utf8 but will do an export tonight as we8iso8859p1 and try an import with the same. i have also tried the import on the same machine using 8.1.6 oracle, i moved back to old reliable 8.0.5 just to try something.
