Yes, I got that. I have since read the install guides from Haigh, Darlington, Bissett & Salvo.
But, since I'm installing 8i on RedHat 6.1
the most useful guide was the pdf from Oracle's
own technical site:
"User Friendly Install Of Oracle8i on Redhat
Linux 6.1"

Unfortunatly I still get problems. After adding fvwm2 as my window manager, I can get the Oracle Universal Installer to load and operate.
However, when it comes to Space Requirements
it claims:
"Volume /usr/ Required 531 MB : Available Not
available"
This is surprising, given that df says:
/dev/hda6 2.99 Gig, 23% used, mounted on /usr
Has similar happened to anyone else? Could you get around it? Any suggestions?
